Here is my first detailed look at Americas Cardroom all new poker client V2
Before everyone gets too excited I have to say it looks basically the same, with a few new additions. I was hoping to play an hour or so and get a feel for the game. I couldn’t do that, there was only a few players (beta testers) on line when I logged on at about 8PM ET. I only got to play a few hands and then my opponent left the table.
Please be Aware: This V2 poker client software is in beta, everything mentioned may or may not be included on the final version of V2. This is just a first look and initial trial on my part. Not all links shown are active, Nothing here is set in stone. I am on a Windows computer and not an Apple so I can’t speak for that version.
All Beta Testers use a separate user name and account, are given $50K in play money to start and can play all they wish. All ACR/WPN asks from them is that you give them your feedback of any kind — good, bad, ideas, suggestions, etc.
Holdem Table
Play is currently is kinda hesitant on the regular cash tables. Probably because it is still in Beta and they’re still working on some of the bugs/details. The Blitz tables moved faster, but I was only playing head to head and that can only move so fast.
The table looks about the same, I do like the new updated font used for player names, player stack totals and bet amounts.
There are also new sit out options. Just click the up arrows (∧) to use.
You now can choose to sit out the next hand on this table only, sit out on all open tables and return to all tables. You also now have a choice to sit out next BB this table, Next BB all tables and return to all tables.
They also added some simple stats hands dealt, pot wins, net win/loss and flops saw. This is available on the bar graph link on the chat box
Bet options, bet slider, quick action buttons are all the same.
Table options are the same as before, table themes, card colors, table sounds, buy-in/re-buy, preferred seat, etc.
The Main Lobby (cash tables)
Again it looks the same, only with the new addition of the Blitz Poker tab.
Blitz Poker is where you are placed in a large pool of players playing 6 max holdem. As soon as you fold your current hand you are taken to a new table with a fresh deal and a fresh hand.
Another thing to note: 6+Hold-em is missing from the game option tabs.
The game options include NLHE, FLHE, PLHE, PLO, PLO8, 7 Card stud, 7 Card stud hi-lo.
I was really hoping they would add some new games like Razz, 2-7 low, Hose and Horse just to name a few to give us players who want to try something different something to play, I’m hoping this still happens.
The Casino and Sports tabs are inactive on the beta version lobby.
Tournament Lobby
Again lots of tournament options but not enough Beta testers.
The tournament lobby itself is basically the same, click a tournament and the detail box on the right scrolls all the important details of that tournament.
Tournament types can be sorted by All, guaranteed, satellite, special events, freeroll and private tabs.
Overall,
I am a little surprised that ACR hasn’t been able to recruit more of their players to give the new V2 client a try. Many players have been whining and complaining for years that the software needed an upgrade, now it’s here and testing and no one seems interested? WTF?
I am hoping more players will download the V2 and can give ACR/WPN some valid and helpful feedback. To not only improve the software but work out all the bugs before it goes live with real money.
