FREE PGA Championship Fantasy Contest

As you may already know, the PGA Championship tees off next Thursday. Fan Duel is hosting a series of Free Play PGA fantasy contests for all the 4 Majors of the 2019 season.

The first one was for the Masters, of which I was lucky enough to have confidence in Tiger Woods to show he still has it. Now keep in mind I’m no golf expert. I just did some reading and followed some expert advice and lo and behold I actually had some winning line ups.

I played in the first free contest (the Masters) and not only placed and won a cash prize, but I’m actually in the competition for the Bermuda Trip, only about 75 points behind the current leader.

Time to make your PGA Championship Fantasy Line-up

Time to start building a winner…….

It’s Monday, the PGA Championship tees off on Thursday Morning, that means today is the day to go into deeper research and start selecting your Fantasy Golfers for the PGA Championship at Whistling Straits.

The DraftKings Salary listing for the PGA Championship is very favorable to making several line-ups with really nice up-side.

There are plenty of big name, highly touted $9K to $7K Golfers for the PGA and this can give you a lot of choices in the diversification your line-ups.

Here are just some of those mid-priced names:

Martin Kaymer $8.8K, Zach Johnson $8.4K, Hideki Matsuyama $8K, Marc Leishman $7.6K, Steve Stricker $7.3K, Jim Furyk $8.1K, Matt Kuchar $8.3K, Brooks Koepka $8.3K, Patrick Reed $7.6K, Danny Lee $7.1K.

Using players like that can create a really nice field of players on your line-up, each of which could be on the final groups on Sunday Afternoon…….

I always try to include one top favorite (a $10K+ golfer) on every line-up, but the salaries this week allow for playing a strong field of 6 golfers, each with tournament winning potential.

As usual, I went to my favorite Fantasy PGA information source (Team Stream), but I also used information from The Sporting News.com, CBSSports.com and Vegas Insider.com for the tournament odds.

Hint: Just search: “pga favorite to win” the results and information are numerous!

Now today, I used everything I just mentioned and here are the six line-ups I am starting with for the DraftKings PGA Championship Fantasy Contests:

Now, when making your line-up you will never be able to fit in a top tier player like Jordan Spieth $12.5K or Rory Mcllroy $11.7K or every favorable player suggestion you’ll find online on every line-up.

You will have to add some lower ranked/lower cost player(s) to make your line-up(s) work. What I like to do is find a salary within the salary restraint I need and look at their individual game logs (just click the players name).

I’m looking for scoring consistency (avg per round), final tournament positions (top 30 finishes), cuts made (over 50%) and hope I picked a player who will play all 4 rounds and give me something back in terms of points.
