Win Billion Dollars on DraftKings TV Ad?

I just saw one of the new DraftKings Ads for the 2017 NFL season

Alright, you’ve probably seen the New DraftKings ads while watching football like I did on TV.

Now is it for real?       Yes it is……

Will I win  billion dollars on week one?  Probably not……

How much does it cost? It’s completely Free to enter, you just have to have a DraftKings player account.

Now, I’ve seen the numbers blasted all over the web on anyone’s individual chance of winning it and most of the experts compare it to being twice as hard as hitting the Power Ball numbers with a 1 ticket, quick pick.

It is almost a certainty you won’t get the perfect line up, but there is always that chance, that fluke line-up, that bizarre play that ends up putting you on top.

Why should I bother? Because this Free Billion Dollar Contest also includes a $100,000 NFL Week One Free Play on DraftKings. Here are the details of the $100K free play.

You have a better chance of winning something on the $100K Free Play, in fact over 138,000 players will win something on the Free Play Contest.

Back to the Billion Dollar Lineup contest, How can you win it?

The difference between a winning line up and the perfect line up is simple.

A winning line up scores more fantasy points than most other competitors line ups in that individual contest.

A perfect line up has the highest scoring player at each individual position staying within the salary cap constraints of that contest.

Who determines this Perfect Line up?

DraftKings will run every possible combination of players, positions and salaries after every Week One NFL game is complete and then post that one perfect line up that stays within the salary cap and scores the most points possible on the DraftKings PlayBook on their site. This is something they have been doing for a few years and it is extremely interesting to see that winning combination each week.

Here’s a perfect Lineup from 2015

Look at the image, note the $3500 and less salaries.

A typical weekly winning contest line up might score 200 fantasy points.

QB 40,  RB 45, RB 35, WR 30, WR 25, WR 5, Flex 5,  D 5

A typical weekly perfect line up might score 287.

QB 44, RB 45, RB 28, WR 38, WR 28, WR 21, TE 33, FLEX 22, D 28

Whats the difference?

The winning contest line up usually uses most of his salary cap on top rated/expensive players for his QB, RB’s and WR’s. He went cheap on his TE, Flex, K and DEF. This showed on his line up scoring, lots of points at the top and fewer at the bottom.

The perfect line up used a mix of high price players for the big scores and a few bargain(low price players) that just happened to over achieve and happened to score a lot of points this one week.

The key here is the player price, find those low salary “diamonds in the rough” this week who can out perform the big name players.

How do I do that?

You obviously follow football, use you research to take advantage of what you know.

Use hidden up and comers.  If your favorite NFL team has a low priced rookie RB or WR with a chance to be on the field a lot this week start him.

NFL Coaches like to keep secrets, chances are you have heard of or seen players in your home town that the rest of the country hasn’t. It’s very likely that a  unknown rookie in Chicago will not be on a New York fans radar this week, but he is on yours.

Use the internet, look at each NFL teams home page. There is plenty of info out there to find names of unknown guys who just may be the in the lime light this week.

Injuries are another way to build a Billion Dollar Line up, look for injuries that make back-ups play a lot. The depth charts are always a place to find names to replace injured star players.

That’s just a few suggestions, always remember to include the big names around your sleepers, a few minimum priced players make using David Johnson, Antonio Brown and Aaron Rodgers a lot easier to afford each week.

Of course don’t expect to win that Billion Dollars, no one probably will. DraftKings just may have this promotion a few more times this season (no confirmation on that).

Fan Duel Week 3 NFL line up advice

Welcome to Week Three of NFL Fantasy on Fan Duel

Updates will be made as needed leading up to week one kick offs.

Each week I’ll be posting players I am strongly considering for my Fan Duel football line ups each week. I’ll also include QB/WR stacks and injury news you should be watching for possible value priced reserves who may benefit from those situations with extended play time.

The Injuries started to pile up on week 2 in the NFL

Injured Running backs: A Peterson MIN, A Foster MIA, D Martin TB, A Abdulah DET, J Stewart CAR and D Whitehead SD leading the list.

Injured Wide Receivers: D Moncrief IND and D Baldwin SEA.

Injured Quarterbacks: J Cutler CHI and J McCown CLE.

But there is also some good injury news, J Charles KC RB is expected to play (on a limited basis). T Eifort CIN TE is expected to return this week and C Ivory JAX RB is also expected to play.

Week 3 Top Scoring Game Lines:  ATL at NO -3 (54), SD at IND -3 (52), DET at GB -7.5 (48), WAS at NYG -4.5 (46), OAK at TEN -1.5 (47)

Low Scoring Games: CLE at MIA -9.5 (41.5), MIN at CAR -7 (43), SF at SEA -9.5 (40), DEN at CIN -3 (41)

You want to be sure to get as many players from the ATL at NO on Monday Night, OAK at TEN and the SD at IND games into your line ups.

Chicago plays at Dallas on Sunday night and Chicago is a complete mess with defensive injuries and there’s a very good chance that B Hoyer will start at QB for J Cutler (hand). The Dallas DEF looks like a solid play and it could very well be a Prescott, Elliot and Bryant coming out party against a crippled defense.

Cleveland has as much of a mess as Chicago (maybe worse), strongly consider a MIAMI stack of Tannehill/Landry/DEF

Players to consider and their salaries for week 3 on Fan Duel:

QB’s: P Rivers SD 8000, D Prescott DAL 7100, R Tannehill MIA 7400

RB’s: E Elliott DAL 8100, D Murray TEN 7700, M Gordon SD 7100, T Riddick DET 6400,

WR’s: D Byrant DAL 7900, K Benjamin CAR 7800, J Landry MIA, T Benjamin SD 6900, P Dorsett IND 6000, T Sharpe TEN 5800

TE’s: D Walker TEN 6900, D Allen IND 6100, C Walford OAK 5000

K: D Bailey DAL 4700, Boswell PIT 4600, Lambo SD 4500

DST’s: DAL 4600, MIA 4600, SEA 5400

Stacks: Tannehill/Landry MIA 14400, Carr/Cooper OAK 15800, Rivers T Benjamin SD 14900, Prescott/Bryant DAL 15000

Injuries to watch: A Foster MIA RB, R Jennings NYG RB, J Cutler CHI QB

Out: C Coleman CLE WR, J Stewart CAR RB, A Peterson MIN RB, D Moncreif IND WR, D Martin TB RB, A Abdullah DET RB, C McCown CLE QB, K Allen SD WR, RG3 CLE QB, T Romo DAL QB, D Lewis NE RB, B Watson BAL TE, T Bridgewater MIN QB

Suspensions of note: T Brady NE QB, L Bell PIT RB, J Gordon CLE WR, J Brown NYG K

Fan Duel will give you a 5 Pack of Free Contests with your first deposit when you start playing fantasy football this week…..PLAY NOW!

Please Note: My advice includes players I will be using in my line ups but I also may use additional players not mentioned to complete my line ups within the salary cap restraints.

Fan Duel Week 2 NFL line up advice

Welcome to Week Two of NFL Fantasy on Fan Duel

Updates will be made as needed leading up to week one kick offs.

Each week I’ll be posting players I am strongly considering for my Fan Duel football line ups each week. I’ll also include QB/WR stacks and injury news you should be watching for possible reserves who may benefit from those situations.

Always keep in mind that Week 2 is still typically a hard week to handicap. We saw only some, of what each team has planned, but there were a few clues and trends to pay attention to.

Week 2 Top scoring Game Lines:

TEN at DET -5.5 (47), CIN at PIT -5 (47.5), NO at NYG -5 (52.5), TAM at ARI -6.5 (50), SF at CAR -14 (48.5), ATL at OAK-4.5 (48)

Low Scoring Games: PHI at CHI -3 (42.5), MIA at NE -6.5 (41.5)

Players and Games I’m targeting this week,

NO at NYG looks to be very high scoring. Eli Manning NYG QB and O Beckham NYG WR are a very tempting stack. The Saints defense couldn’t stop Oakland in week one and I doubt they’ll stop Manning/OBJ this week. The Giant defense isn’t a stone wall either, so D Brees NO QB, B Cooks NO WR and W Snead NO WR should be worth starts. The ball should be flying the entire second half in this game. You want players from this game in your line ups.

The Steelers offense rolled thru the WAS defense on Monday night and will have no problems with the CIN DEF this coming Sunday. B Roethlisberger QB, A Brown WR and D Williams RB scored a total of 83.5 total fantasy points together on Monday and I’m riding this trio until further notice. The Bengals have their own stud receiver, AJ Green who had 12/180 and a TD last week. Figure on him almost matching those numbers this week while A Dalton CIN QB is trying to match the Steelers point for point. This is another game you a piece of this week.

Face it, week one proved that the LA Rams offense stinks, play the Seattle Defense this week.

It looks like Thomas Rawls will be the starting SEA RB this week.

The Baltimore Defense looked good in week one and this week they have the rebuilding Cleveland Brown offense minus RG3, the Ravens Defense should do just fine.

The SF 49er’s visit the Carolina Panthers this week. The SF DEF looked good against the LA Rams on Monday night, they won’t against the Panthers. Load up on C Newton QB, K Benjamin WR, T Ginn WR, J Stewart RB and G Olsen TE this week. You want part of this game in your line up, also..

K Allen SD WR is now on the IR with a severe Knee Injury. This makes T Benjamin SD WR and T Williams SD WR the most likely recipients of Allen’s numerous looks and catches from SD QB, P Rivers.

T Sharpe TEN WR looked good in his first start for the Titans, I expect him to get even better as the season rolls on.

M Jones Jr DET WR had a line of 10/85/0 in week 1, he was indeed sought out by M Stafford DET QB often and will see better results (TD’s) as the season progresses.

D Prescott DAL QB disappointed some fantasy players in week 1, he is still a value QB (7000) and will only get better as he settles into the starting QB job on the Cowboys.

S Ware KC RB is up against a stiffer HOU DEF this week, however he still can do everything asked of him, just don’t expect another 30 point game.

Players to consider and their salaries for week one on Fan Duel:

QB’s: B Roethlisberger PIT QB 8300, C Newton CAR 9000, E Manning NYG 8100, A Dalton CIN 7800, D Prescott DAL 7000.

RB’s: S Ware KC 6800, D Williams PIT 7600, T Rawls SEA 6600, D Murray TEN 7400.

WR’s: O Beckham NYG 9400, A Brown PIT 9200, AJ Green CIN 8900, T Benjamin SD WR 6100 K Benjamin CAR 7500, T Sharpe TEN 6000, B Cooks NO 8400, W Snead NO 7200, A Jeffery CHI 7800, M Jones Jr DET 6500.

TE’s: G Olsen CAR 7600, J Reed WAS 7400,

K: G Gano CAR 4900, C Boswell PIT 4600, R Bullock NYG 4800,

DST’s: SEA 5200, BAL 4500, CAR 5300,

Stacks: E Manning/O Beckham NYG 17500, C Newton/K Benjamin CAR 16500, A Dalton/AJ Green CIN 16700.

Injuries to watch: TY Hilton IND WR, J Stewart CAR RB, J Jones ATL WR, M Sanu ATL WR, D Freeman ATL RB, R Gronkowski NE TE, D Thomas DEN WR, S Watkins BUF WR, J Thomas JAX TE, C Ivory JAX RB, J Charles KC RB, Z Ertz PHI TE, R Wilson SEA QB,

Out: K Allen SD WR, RG3 CLE QB, T Romo DAL QB, D Lewis NE RB, B Watson BAL TE, T Bridgewater MIN QB

Suspensions of note: T Brady NE QB, L Bell PIT RB, J Gordon CLE WR, J Brown NYG K

DraftKings Adds Thursday Start Week One Contests

DraftKings has added their Week One Thursday Start NFL Week One Contests.

Why did it take so long? DraftKings has always offered preseason Fantasy Football and to avoid the confusion of the various start days of  the NFL preseason schedule, DK has traditionally waited until the very end of the preseason schedule to post their complete week one NFL contest schedule.

The Thursday Night Kick off game features Carolina at Denver. This should be a tough defensive struggle and you should probably temper your enthusiasm for a high scoring contest.

Whatever you decide, do not load up on CAR and DEN skill players. You cannot win week one on one Thursday night game, you can however lose week one if it turns out to be a low scoring game.

Be selective and stick to one or two players only, you still have 13 other games to choose your line up from. (Complete Week One line up advice)

Players to watch on Thursday Night: C Newton CAR QB 7700, T Ginn CAR WR 4100, G Olsen CAR TE 5100, CAR DEF 3800, DEN DEF 3700.

DraftKings will give you a free entry to the NFL $5 Million Dollar Week One Millionaire when you join and deposit today.

Highlighted DraftKings Thursday 9/8 NFL Contests

Start time: 8:30PM ET, all 16 week one NFL games included

Fan Duel Week One NFL line up advice

Welcome to Week One of NFL Fantasy on Fan Duel

Updates will be made as needed leading up to week one kick offs.

Last Update: Sunday, September 7

Each week I’ll be posting players I am strongly considering for my Fan Duel football line ups each week. I’ll also include QB/WR stacks and injury news you should be watching for possible reserves who may benefit from those situations.

Vegas has several high scoring games on their lines for week one, there should be plenty of points to be had for savvy fantasy players this week.

Always keep in mind that Week One is typically a hard week to handicap, no one really knows who or what the coaching staffs are secretly planning to use or how to use their newly found gems and we’ll all have to wait and see the regular season play out a couple of weeks to really get a grasp on exactly what team defenses are good and how the rookie class of players will be used/emphasized.

Week One Top scoring Game Lines:

OAK at NO-1 (50.5), GB -4.5 at JAX (47), NYG at DAL -3.5 (49.5), DET at IND -5 (49), NE at ARI -5.5 (Sunday night)  (48), PIT -3 at WAS (Monday night) (50.5).

Top defensive games: MIN -3 at TEN (42) and SD at KC -7 (43)

Players I’m targeting this week,

I’m putting a lot of emphasis on the Monday night match-up of PIT at WAS for my Fan Duel line-ups. There are a couple of stacking opportunities to behold and I can see this game being even more high scoring than the wise guys in Vegas are predicting.

Even without L Bell PIT RB (3 game suspension), the Steelers should be able to rack up a shitload of points. Don’t be the guy who does not have A Brown PIT WR in your line-up. D Williams PIT RB also proved to be a more than capable replacement for L BELL when he missed time last year.

It looks like J Charles KC RB will not play in week one, this makes S Ware KC RB 5400 a must start in your line ups.

The connections that B Bortles JAX QB had with A Robinson WR  and A Hurns WR  was incredible last year. Any stack involving those guys cannot be discounted and it is one I can highly recommend on the Sunday game slate this week. Also the 2016 JAX running game has been greatly improved with the addition of C Ivory and I can see their deep threats opening a lot of space for Ivory.

K Cousins WAS QB and J Reed TE had a fantastic end of season run in 2015, you can expect that to continue to grow in 2016.

Without T Brady NE QB for the first month, I can imagine that L Blount RB will have quite a few more touches especially if J Garoppolo NE QB has any trouble in the Patriots spot light. Of course you can never tell what Coach Belichick will do, but without D Lewis NE RB (out) in the mix to take touches, Blount looks like a pretty good choice, at least for the first few weeks and especially up close on Goal Line opportunities.

M Jones Jr. WR DET has established himself as M Stafford’s DET QB deep threat in camp and without Megatron this year some one has to step up and be the Lions go to deep guy.

I was fortunate enough to see a few preseason games this past week end on the NFL Network. Make sure you use the HOU D 4900 against CHI on week one. The Bears offense looks terrible and the HOU defense looks ready to dominate offenses this year.

Players to consider and their salaries for week one on Fan Duel:

QB’s: K Cousins WAS 7800, R Wilson 8500, B Roethlisberger PIT 8500, Bortles JAX 8400, Dak Prescott DAL 5000

RB’s: S Ware KC 5400, L Blount NE 6000, D Williams PIT 7100, Langford CHI 6200, L Murray OAK 6600, D Sproles PHI 5600, C Ivory JAX 6100, J Hill CIN 6500

WR’s: K White CHI 6000,  M Crabtree OAK 6100, A Brown PIT 9300, M Jones Jr DET 5500, T Sharpe TEN 4800

TE’s: J Reed WAS 7400, D Allen IND 5500, V McDonald SF 4700

K: D Bailey DAL 4800, C Boswell PIT 4600, B Walsh MIN 4700

DST’s: HOU 4900, SEA 5000, KC 5100, MIN 4600

Top Stacks: K Cousins/J Reed WAS $15200, Big Ben/ A Brown PIT 17800,  Bortles/A Robinson JAX 16900, D Prescott/D Bryant DAL 13000

Injuries to watch: J Reed WAS TE , J Nelson GB WR, L Fitzgerald ARI WR, J Matthews WR PHI, T Eifort CIN TE, C Hyde SF RB, D Amendola NE WR, J Brown ARI WR, V Cruz NYG WR, E Ebron DET TE, D Allen IND TE

New Injuries to watch: A J Green CIN WR, K Stills MIA WR

Out: T Romo DAL QB, D Lewis NE RB, B Watson BAL TE, T Bridgewater MIN QB

Suspensions of note: T Brady NE QB, L Bell PIT RB, J Gordon CLE WR, J Brown NYG K

Fan Duel will give you a 5 Pack of Free Contests with your first deposit when you start playing fantasy football this week…..PLAY NOW!

Please Note: My advice includes players I will be using in my line ups but I also may use additional players not mentioned to complete my line ups within the salary cap restraints.
